From Frameworks to Follow-Through: Applying Change Management Models
Organizational Development SIG
Join us for the first ATD Nashville OD SIG session of 2026!
Change is constant, yet many organizations struggle to implement change in ways that truly stick. This session explores several widely used change management models and the core principles that underpin them. Participants will compare people-centered and process-focused approaches, examine when different models are most effective, and apply a change framework to a real or hypothetical workplace scenario. The session will also highlight the critical role of organizational culture, leadership behaviors, and communication in shaping how change is experienced and sustained.
Organizational Development (OD) is the study and implementation of organizational change processes. Join two leaders in the OD field for this Special Interest Group (SIG) discussion on OD related topics. Each bi-monthly meeting will have a specialized topic for discussion, workshop, or guest speaker.
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to…
- Identify and compare core principles across major change management models (e.g., people-centered vs. process-centered approaches).
- Distinguish when different change models are most effective based on organizational context, culture, and readiness.
- Apply at least one change management model to a real or hypothetical workplace change scenario.
- Reflect on how organizational culture and leadership behaviors influence change adoption and sustainability.
