The Instructional Design SIG is back!

This is a hands-on workshop session in which you ideate and begin to create your learning unit. Invite a friend, wear your creative instructional designer hat, and be ready to fully participate in an engaging session.

In this session:

  • Recall key points of learning analysis
  • Choose a topic to design and develop in SIG meetings throughout the remainder of this year
  • Identify learning objectives
  • List Gagne's Nine Events of Instruction to be utilized in your design
  • Recall best practices for writing criterion-referenced assessments


Your hosts are Paola Nunez and Paula O’Brien:

Paola Núñez, MSEd is an Instructional Learning Designer for the Global Professional Education team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She previously worked within higher education institutions to develop competency-based and open scale courses. With experience in communications, graphic design, and instructional design, Paola's focus is on delivering thoughtful and engaging content to global audiences.

Paula O'Brien, M.Ed., PMP works as a Senior Instructional Designer managing projects across business segments, developing materials for virtual instructor-led training, and creating eLearning curriculum for Pharmacists who specialize in renal care and dialysis. Paula's 15 years of expertise represent her creativity and passion for designing engaging instruction used in online and blended-learning sessions. Her courses have been delivered to enlisted military, veterans, technology professionals, and pharmacy teams around the world.
